ATTUKAL PONGALA Attukal Pongala é um congregation anual das mulheres para oferecer Pongala - oferecer do arroz fervido no potenciômetro earthern - durante o mês de Malayam de Kumbham (Fevereiro-Março). O Pongala tem-se transformado hoje um símbolo do sincerity, da devoção a Devi, do deus da mãe e sobretudo de um celebration do womanhood. As últimas mulheres do lakh year27 participaram no festival de Pongala. Entrou também no livro de Guinness de registros de mundo como o recolhimento o maior das mulheres no mundo.

Today the Pongala has become a symbol of sincerity, devotion to Devi, the Mother god and above all a celebration of womanhood. Last year27 lakh women participated in the Pongala festival. It has also entered the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest gathering of women in the world.This year's Pongala is on 22 February 2008
